Pray, Praise, and Promise

Pray

What is prayer? What should you say, what does it mean, and why should you pray? Sometimes it is hard to understand what prayer is, and why you really, truly need it in your life. But I am here to tell you that praying is one of the closest and most intimate connection you can have with God. Prayer is not determined by the length of words, it is not measured by its perfection or the intellect of the person, and it is not to be said in hast. Praying can be simple, it can be a phrase, a story you want to share aloud or in your mind with God, it can be a silent moment in the still of the night as you clasp your hands together and just listen to what HE wants to tell your soul. In this mad, and chaotic world, it is prayer that separates you from the storm that surrounds you and gives you a peace of mind to help you push through, and it resets your soul and spirit that God has created within you.

Open your heart to receive His blessings. Help your soul heal, transform, and allow your burdens to dissolve into the distance, and just pray with all your heart.

Praise

We all want our voice to be heard, and we want praise for our accomplishments. But your voice started small, and your accomplishments were non-existent when you were born. But He gave you the abilities to sing, to smile, to embrace others, to help others, to love this life. HE gave you life, and that in itself is deserving of an infinite and everlasting praise. Our accomplishments that may seem small to us - those clothes we donate, that door we hold open for someone, a hug to someone in need, and just being kind to others – these are all precious things to HIM. These are the things that make our Heavenly Father proud of his children, and makes the life He breathed into us all worth it.

Helping others, when you, yourself, need help is what makes us as His children a wondrous creation. Giving us the strength to make it through our toughest days, and even years, and showing us grace in our darkest times, is something only God can do for us. God does not need us, we need Him. The moment you realize you cannot live this life just for yourself, is the moment He will welcome you with open arms. The moment you let go of your anxiety, worries, and selfishness is the moment He will appear in your life in the brightest light. He is waiting patiently for your love and praise, so that He can praise you as His child.

Promise

Promises can be broken. They are made sometimes out of love, sometimes out of obligation, and sometimes as a lie and to deceive. So why should you promise anything to anyone? Well, you should not promise anything to just anyone, the only promise that matters in this life is your promise to God.

The way I see things in life are pretty simple. Jesus Christ gave his life as a promise to humanity, all of God’s children, each one of us.  It is because of Christ’s promise on the cross, that we now have a way to be with God always and forever; and death’s shadow will not touch us, for He promised us everlasting light and life through Him alone. It is this promise that has remained true through and through. So, today, make one promise that cannot be broken, and promise God your heart, and He will keep it forever and ever.
