Our Moral Compass

Have you ever wondered why there is a universal standard for what is right and wrong? Or why this standard surpasses and transcends any form of religion and culture, and is an inherent characteristic and piece of knowledge that is within us from the day we are born? I will give you a hint:

Deuteronomy 10:4

“And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments,

which the Lord spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly:

and the Lord gave them unto me.”

The Ten Commandments, yes, the ten simple rules that all life, as we know it, inherently recognizes. There is no physical map to life, or physical compass – only the one written on your heart by God. We were made in the image of God, and though he created us with good intent, and to be as He is, He also gave us free will. Free will to choose to walk with Him, or to choose to be without Him. There is no other real choice in this world.

Do not let others fill your heart, soul, and spirit with doubt of our Lord Jesus Christ. These are the same people who cannot explain how they know, even from little on as babies, what is right and what is wrong. They say “my mom and dad taught me…” “I learned what is good behavior from school…” “it is because we evolved to survive based on good choices and survival of the fittest.” But just remember, God KNOWS why these people cannot accept the real reason, and it is not for us to understand. However, if God’s written map for you leads you to cross paths with someone like this, just remember just as it is their free will to choose a path without God, it is yours to choose to walk with Him – and invite anyone who is willing to hear you.

God gave us free will, but He also provided us with His ten conditions and terms. Just ten laws that He has already written on our hearts. HE KNOWS we are not perfect, and that we are going to stray – and others may break and crush our hearts –but if you keep these Ten Commandments close to your heart, God will be there to mend it and pick up the pieces- and recalibrate your compass in the right direction.

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

1. Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.

2. Thou shalt not make gods or worship them (Idolatry).

3. Thou shalt not use the Lord’s name in vain.

4. Thou shalt keep the Sabbath Day holy.

5. Thou shalt honor thy father and mother.

6. Thou shalt not murder.

7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

8. Thou shalt not steal.

9. Thou shalt not give false witness against thy neighbor.

10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors property.

Thanks be to God!
