Genesis 1:1-5
[1] In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.[2] And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.[3] And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.[4] And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.[5] And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

The year is ending, and a new one is about to commence. And much like so many of us, I too feel as though I can do so much more, contribute the depths of my soul and spirit to help others, and to grow and thrive in the grace and in the light of God. So, let these words above in Genesis 1 humble you, and allow you to contemplate what Our Creator made for us. Our world is precious to Him, just as his children, and neither should be taken for granted. He gave us this earth and this life to thrive. It is not His intent for us to dwell in self-pity and abandon His glory in the name of our own self-interest and selfishness. Make this coming year something wonderful, and something that embraces a positive impact for others.
For this New Year, make it a new beginning for yourself, start on the path that God has shone his light on for you. Trust your good instincts, trust in your moral compass, and in God’s love for His world and children. Do not crucify yourself, or let others determine what path is meant for you. Sometimes the trials and tribulations we all go through is part of a bigger meaning and purpose that we may never get to see. This year, release the chains around your heart, open your eyes wider, lean in and listen closer, and start to realize each day is truly a gift from the Lord above. Though we all must endure the darkness of the world throughout our life, it is the wonder of the light that God created in the beginning that comforts us, moves us to keep trying, keep loving, and keep hoping.
The story of creation is just the beginning…. Let it be the reason for you to start a new beginning. Let God guide your heart this coming year and always. He may not give you the things you want, but he knows what you need. Though pain and heartache will no doubt be along your path, do not judge Him, he is on your side through the darkness and the light. He will see you through it all, until the end.
Let the light of the Lord shine for you in this coming year and always.
John 1:5:
"The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness did not overcome it".
Blessings for you and yours in this coming New Year!
Thanks be to God.
